They were made in Morand (to North-West from Tabriz). Such carpets rarely find their way to the market. They usually pass from a collector to a collector and stay out of everyone's field of view.Not every museum can brag about posessing a Haji Jalili rug. This rug's is absolutely unique and has lots of unique elements that were not found on any other Haji jalil rugs.The great skill of the weaver and the color mixture have made the impossible real since some of the ornament's elements look very much like 3D.The size is 133 x 196 cm or 4 feet 4 inches x 6 feet 5 inches. Very high quality (KPSI 400). The colours are all natural dyes. The foundation is a very complicated issue. It looks like it's cotton. I have never seen anywhere a foundation of such tender and fine cotton.When you look on it you start doubting if this really is cotton since the threads it's made of are so thin they seem unreal.
